Lock your computer
Why bother locking your computer at work?
Unsaved Work
We have all lost hours of work because we forgot to save that file, and if you walk away from your computer leaving it unlocked you are probably leaving your work unsaved and unprotected.
If your computer is shut down or re-boots for any reason, you risk losing your work. Get into the habit of Crtl+S (save that document) and (Windows Key) + L (lock your computer)
Protect Yourself / Protect Your Company
Leaving your computer unlocked allows everyone access to your document storage. This may include private or confidential documents/records and corporate applications, which may be modified or stolen by site visitors, contractors or cleaning staff.
Confidential Communications
We often receive and send information via emails that is confidential. Leaving your computer unsecured allows any third party access to your corporate email account, allowing them to read, send and forward emails. Draft emails that you have started may be inadvertently sent by staff or third parties.
The number one cause for accidental data breaches in Australia, from April to June 2018, was from personal information being emailed to the wrong person.

Do you know who is at your computer while you're away?
